Our Mission For as long as there have been ships, there have been people who work them. For thousands of years men and women have been working to keep the flow of goods and services moving around the world. The members of the International Longshoreman’s Association have proudly carried on that tradition.  
About Us - ILA 1416 Our association is committed to all work on cargo received into the terminal, placed on the ships, loaded and unloaded from vessels and delivered at other immediate pier area, shed, warehouse and terminal by any means of transportation.
Community Affairs The International Longshoremen’s Association Local 1416 is very proud and acknowledges that their sixty years in this community has exemplified dedication, love and concern for the welfare of all the people affiliated with their Union.
Accomplishments Under the present administration, Mr. Clarence Pittman Jr., President; Willie J. Hunter, Vice President; Jakelin Chapman, Recording Secretary; and Nathaniel May Jr., Financial Secretary- Treasurer, and a trustee board of five members have serviced the members and their community as follows.
